What’s new for the 2025 Porsche 911 models?

The 2025 Porsche 911 lineup introduces exciting advancements and innovations, setting a new standard for the iconic sports car. The 2025 911 models introduce a new, model-specific front fascia to enhance aerodynamics further. You can also expect for all 911 models to have new colors, a refreshed interior–including a fully digital instrument cluster for the first time–enhanced standard equipment, and more extensive connectivity.

Leading the way, the new 911 Carrera GTS debuts as the first street-legal 911 to incorporate a lightweight, performance-oriented hybrid powertrain. At its heart is a groundbreaking 3.6-liter engine, designed specifically for high performance. Additionally, a newly upgraded eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK), now includes an integrated, permanently excited synchronous motor. You can also expect a newly developed, electrically driven turbocharger. The Porsche 911 Carrera isn’t left behind, as it benefits from an enhanced 3.0-liter twin-turbo boxer engine, which now delivers more power than its predecessors.

Features of the 2025 Porsche 911 models

The new Porsche 911 models dazzle with an array of sophisticated features designed to enhance both their aesthetic appeal and performance capabilities. Illuminating the road ahead, the 911 is equipped with standard LED Matrix design headlights, showcasing Porsche’s signature four-point design for maximum visibility and a distinctive look. Wheel customization is elevated with seven different designs available in 19-/20- or 20-/21-inch combinations, allowing owners to tailor their 911 to their style preferences. On the auditory and performance front, the 911 Carrera models offer an optional sport exhaust system, while the 911 Carrera GTS models include a GTS-specific sport exhaust system as standard, delivering a richer, more resonant engine sound. Additionally, Porsche embraces a sportier configuration in the new 911 coupe models, offering them as standard two-seaters without rear seats to emphasize their performance heritage. Performance and specs: engine, horsepower, top speed, and 0-60

The 2025 Porsche 911 models push the boundaries of performance with notable enhancements in power and speed, ensuring an exhilarating driving experience. The 911 Carrera GTS Coupe now boasts impressive acceleration, sprinting from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds, which is 0.3 seconds faster than before, and reaching a top track speed of 194 mph.

On the other hand, the 911 Carrera is powered by a refined 3.0-liter twin-turbo boxer engine, which now produces 388 horsepower, an increase of 9 hp over the previous model. It also delivers up to 331 lb.-ft. of torque, providing robust power at any speed. The Porsche 911 GTS goes hybrid

The 911 goes hybrid with the 2025 Porsche 911 GTS, featuring a newly engineered 3.6-liter engine. The electrically driven turbocharger and the transmission’s electric motor are coupled with a lightweight and compact high-voltage battery. This battery, comparable in size and weight to a traditional 12-volt AGM starter battery, stores up to 1.9 kWh of energy (gross) and operates at 400 volts. It is strategically placed under the front hood, where the previous 12-volt battery was situated. To enhance weight distribution, a lightweight lithium-ion 12-volt battery has now been positioned behind the parcel shelf in the rear.

The new boxer engine in the 2025 911 Carrera GTS alone produces 478 hp and 420 lb.-ft. of torque. When combined with the hybrid system, the total output reaches 532 hp and 449 lb.-ft. of torque. This marks a significant increase of 59 hp over previous 911 Carrera GTS models. The new 911 Carrera GTS particularly excels during acceleration from a standstill, showcasing its enhanced capabilities. The performance-oriented hybrid system boosts performance without the substantial weight gain often seen in traditional hybrids. In fact, the U.S. curb weight of the new 911 Carrera GTS Coupe has only modestly increased by 103 lbs compared to its predecessor, maintaining a lean profile while improving power and efficiency.

Optimized suspension and active aerodynamics

The 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS suspension has undergone comprehensive upgrades, enhancing its handling and stability. For the first time, drivers will get rear axle steering as standard equipment, which sharpens the vehicle’s stability at high speeds and tightens the turning radius for improved agility. Additionally, the optional Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC) integrates with the high-voltage system of the performance hybrid. This integration allows for an electro-hydraulic control system that increases the system’s precision and adaptability. Complementing these enhancements is the standard sport suspension equipped with adaptive dampers (PASM) and a lowered ride height by 10 millimeters compared to the standard 911 Carrera.

Interior

Inside, the new 911 marries its classic design ethos with cutting-edge technology through the Porsche Driver Experience, which enables intuitive and swift management of essential driver-centric functions. Strategically positioned on or adjacent to the steering wheel are vital controls including the standard drive mode switch and an updated control stalk for operating assistance systems. A novel addition to the 911 is the start button, now conveniently located to the left of the steering wheel for the first time. Further enhancing utility, the center console’s storage compartment is equipped with a cooling feature for smartphones with a convenient charging area, merging functionality with modern convenience. Additionally, the 12.6-inch curved display seamlessly blends into the updated operating and display concept, offering extensive customization to suit the driver’s preferences.
