This fourth-generation “evo4” powerplant is paired with a 7-speed DSG® dual-clutch automatic transmission with Tiptronic®, offering smooth, quick shifts. The transmission also includes a fuel-saving Start-Stop System and a launch control feature for an extra boost off the line. According to EPA estimates, the GTI achieves 24 mpg in the city, 32 mpg on the highway, and 27 mpg combined.

For 2025, the Golf GTI brings back Kings Red Metallic, Mythos Black Metallic, Opal White Pearl Effect, and Moonstone Grey, while introducing fresh hues—Slate Blue Metallic and Alpine Silver Metallic—replacing Atlantic Blue and Reflex Silver from the previous model.

Standard on the Mk8 GTI, ambient lighting adds a colorful glow throughout the cabin. Drivers can choose from 30 different colors that light up the dash and doors, storage compartments in the doors, center console, and footwells.
