Launching with the Neue Klasse vehicles in late 2025, the BMW Panoramic iDrive takes driver-focused technology to the next level. Building on the success of previous iDrive systems, this cutting-edge enhancement will be available in all new BMW models—no matter the drive system.

Powered by the advanced BMW Operating System X, the Panoramic iDrive delivers a seamless, smarter, and highly intuitive driving experience. Its development is backed by data-driven insights gathered from over 22 million connected BMW vehicles worldwide, combined with extensive customer feedback. Through usability studies conducted in BMW Group labs, involving around 3,000 customers, every aspect of the operating logic was carefully refined. The result? A system designed with precision and real-world input to ensure an exceptional user experience for every driver.

The new BMW iDrive merges four central elements into a unique display and operating concept.

BMW Panoramic Vision

A groundbreaking Head-Up Display concept that stretches from A-pillar to A-pillar on the lower section of the windscreen. This innovative display ensures key information is visible to all passengers while keeping the most critical driving data directly in the driver’s line of sight above the steering wheel. With customizable content in the central and right-hand sections, controlled via the central display, drivers can tailor their experience like never before. The result? A sleek 3D effect that enhances the journey for everyone on board.

BMW 3D Head-Up Display

The optional new BMW 3D Head-Up Display takes innovation to the next level, showing navigation and automated driving info right in the driver’s field of vision. Seamlessly synced with BMW Panoramic Vision, the two displays work together for a clean and intuitive experience. With multiple patents backing these cutting-edge projection technologies, BMW is redefining how you see the road ahead.

Central Display

The central display with matrix backlight tech makes using your BMW easier than ever. The updated menu with QuickSelect puts all your functions at your fingertips, and its ergonomic placement near the steering wheel ensures a comfortable experience. Want to customize your view? Simply swipe up to move widgets from the central display to the BMW Panoramic Vision. You can arrange up to six widgets however you like, keeping everything you need right where you want it.

Multifunction Steering Wheel

The new multifunction steering wheel brings BMW’s shy-tech innovation to life with illuminated buttons that highlight available functions. Designed as the main control hub, the wheel’s buttons provide haptic feedback and have a raised, easy-to-feel surface—so you can find and press them without taking your eyes off the road. Functions are intuitively arranged, with driver assistance on the left and content controls on the right, keeping everything at your fingertips for a safer, smarter drive.
