J.D. Power Study Reveals Porsche Leads Premium Brands in Customer Loyalty

Porsche is named number one among luxury car owners in recent J.D. Power study.

For the fourth consecutive year, Porsche has earned the top spot for brand loyalty among luxury car owners in the J.D. Power 2025 U.S. Automotive Brand Loyalty Study℠. The study tracks how often car owners choose the same brand when they trade in their vehicle for a new purchase or lease. Only transactions made at official new-car franchised dealerships are included in the results.

Since 2018, the J.D. Power U.S. Automotive Brand Loyalty Study℠ has analyzed data from the Power Information Network, which collects vehicle trade-in and purchase records from more than 16,000 dealerships through their Dealer Management Systems.

The study tracks brand loyalty across five key categories: premium cars, premium SUVs, mass market cars, mass market SUVs, and trucks. For the 2025 report, the findings are based on transactions recorded between September 2024 and August 2025, covering all model years that were traded in for a new vehicle.

In the 2025 J.D. Power APEAL Study released earlier this year, Porsche was ranked as the most appealing premium brand.

Porsche was ranked number one in the J.D. Power 2025 U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study, Porsche claimed the top spot in the premium category. This marked the brand’s second year in a row at number one and its fifth overall win since 2020.

Additionally, the Taycan was also recognized as the best model in the Upper Midsize Premium Car segment for the third straight year, while the iconic 911 secured first place in the Premium Sporty Car category.
