The McLaren P1 brings straight-line performance and instant throttle response to life. It utilizes an innovative IPAS petrol-electric powertrain with a McLaren 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine and a single electric motor. “We believe the McLaren P1 is the most exciting, capable, technologically advanced and most dynamically accomplished supercar ever made. It may not be the fastest car in the world in absolute top speed, but that was never our goal. McLaren’s design team worked to achieve ‘light and agile’ in the P1’s design. The car was created to be as compact and lightweight as possible; that’s exactly what was accomplished. There are only five main panels—the front clamshell, front bonnet, rear clamshell and the doors—all made from lightweight carbon fiber. The strong carbon construction means the panels can ‘multi-task’, acting both as aero-honed ducts and load-bearing supports. They are intricately shaped yet superbly finished, aided by their strong carbon construction. There is so much perfection in the P1.
