Most people picture cozy fires, hot cocoa, and peaceful serenity when they think of winter – but at Porsche Ice Experience, winter isn’t for seating still. It’s quite the opposite actually.
Porsche Ice Experience is the season where snow, ice, and other treacherous conditions serve as a whole new exciting driving experience for Porsche enthusiasts.
This is an exclusive event where drivers take on winter in a whole new way. Over several days, instructors teach drivers to conquer the season on specially prepared snow and ice tracks. They learn to drive a Porsche the way it’s meant to be driven with the skills that will make them a more confident and competent winter driver.
Starting with the Ice Trial, participants can then move to the Ice Intro level, then Ice Experience, then Ice Force. Plus, you don’t have to be a Porsche owner to participate in this experience.
Usually, winter is a call for people to spend time inside. This year, loyal Porsche fanatics spent winter inside a Porsche.
indiGO Auto Group visited our neighbors in the Great White North for an unforgettable Porsche experience filled with thrill, snow, and lots of automotive passion.
Upon arrival, all visiting clients were transported from Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport to the lavish Esterel Resort -a unique resort surrounded by two lakes and miles of forest.
The day quickly kicked off with a cocktail hour at Esterel Resort along with a uniquely Canadian hospitality experience, combining fine cuisine, modern décor, and unforgettable scenery.
However, guests quickly realized they were far from a cozy, relaxed winter getaway as they had imagined. Instead, drivers were in for a one-of-a-kind learning experience on how to control a Porsche on slippery ice and snow in demanding situations.
The goal: for guests to learn to rule the road, no matter the weather.
The track was located in Mécaglisse, Quebec – specifically constructed for cold-weather testing and performance driving. It also offered guests a number of exciting sections to explore including two circuits, two large skid pads, and challenging handling courses.

Snow driving is something many drivers avoid at all costs because of the dangers or a simple lack of experience. After all, snow and ice are among the biggest challenges for any driver.
However, Porsche driving expert, Jukka Honkavuori, says a combination of basic physics and keeping your cool goes a long way to conquering your fears and keeping you safe while driving in the snow.
Here are some pivotal tips from Honkavuori that will help you become a pro driver on the snow:
- Keep calm and watch your steering.
- Keep a lid on your speed.
- Read the road, read the conditions, and look far ahead.
- Know what the appropriate set of tires are. Studded tires, winter tires, or normal road tires?
- Be conscious that sometimes accidents do happen.
- Take a common-sense approach when driving a Porsche car on ice and snow.
