Most notably, Ferrari is set to launch its ninth model in the series history with the debut of the 296 Challenge.
The Ferrari Challenge 2024 car, 296 Challenge, derives from the 296 GTB and brings significant enhancements in power, aerodynamics, and vehicle dynamics. It is also the first-ever six-cylinder engine in the Challenge series. Ferrari says, “The new track model sports a 2992cc V6 that unleashes up to 700 CV, with a specific power output of 234 cv/l, a new record for the segment.”
According to Ferrari, at its maximum angle of attack, the 296 Challenge can produce an impressive 870 kg of downforce at 250 km/h, signifying an 18% upsurge compared to the 488 Challenge Evo. The aero design of the car was meticulously crafted not only for enhanced performance but also for improved drive ability. In pursuit of both objectives, the car’s sensitivity to fluctuations in downforce and the aero balance concerning ground clearance, yaw, and roll were kept to a minimum.
