The Scuderia Ferrari racing team says it will reveal the 2023 Ferrari F1 racecar on Valentine’s Day – February 14.
Known as Project 675, the 2023 Ferrari F1 race car is set to arrive with key improvements as the iconic racing team prepares to take on the Red Bull team next season.
The single-seater will be driven by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz in the Grand Prix races of the 2023 season.
The yet-unnamed vehicle was shown in a single sketch during the announcement.
A released sketch doesn’t reveal much beyond a very aerodynamic silhouette with a red background denoting the illustrious history of the Maranello brand.
Once it debuts, the F1 car will head to the winter tests in Bahrain, scheduled for February 23-25.
In Bahrain, Scuderia Ferrari will put the finishing touches on the car before heading toward the first race of the season, the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 3-5.
Monégasque Charles Leclerc will head the driver lineup.
He finished second in the F1 Driver’s Championship standings this year. Carlos Sainz Jr. will be occupying the other driving spot.
The Scuderia Ferrari team is the second of the ten teams to confirm their launch date for next year’s cars.
Aston Martin will launch its AMR23 the day before Ferrari’s launch – on Monday 13th February.
The 2022 Ferrari F1 car was designated the ‘F1-75’ to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Ferrari racing in Formula 1-level competition, according to the Italian automaker.
According to the Race Fans website, the F1-75 claimed four victories and 12 pole positions.
Ferrari’s 2023 Ferrari F1 campaign will be their first under the leadership of new team principal Frederic Vasseur, according to the website.
Vasseur is the former Sauber and Alfa Romeo team principal. He joins Ferrari following the departure of Mattia Binotto, who resigned at the end of last year’s season.
