McLaren is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.

And what better way to celebrate 60 years than with your very own LEGO set! The British automaker has once again joined forces with the LEGO Group to create two of its hypercars in “brick form.”

This isn’t the first time McLaren has worked with LEGO. The McLaren Elva and Senna GTR were memorialized in Lego form as part of the toy company’s Speed Champions line. In fact, McLaren and Lego have worked together since 2015 and introduced a total of eight Lego McLarens. This time it’s the classic McLaren F1 LM supercar and the McLaren Solus GT hypercar that are being turned into Legos comprising a total of 581 LEGO pieces.

Unveiled as a pack of two, these legendary cars include their own driver mini-figures, complete with McLaren uniforms in the McLaren “Papaya Orange” hue.

Detailing also includes the F1 LM’s central driving seat position and cooling ducts.

Not to be outdone, the Solus GT, which is actually a gaming concept, features a central single-seat cockpit as well as high-downforce rear wing designs.

So get ready to experience the thrill of McLaren ownership in the form of the McLaren Solus GT & McLaren F1 LM LEGO Speed Set hitting stores near you with a retail price of $35. Compared to the retail price of an actual McLaren that’s quite the bargain.

The companies are also releasing a film to celebrate the release of these very special Legos as McLaren celebrates 60 years of greatness.

The movie was shot at LEGO’s headquarters in Denmark and shows designers from both companies creating the concepts for the models, as well as their approach to the design and the shared values underpinning the collaboration.

“As 2023 marks the 60th anniversary of McLaren and our founder’s passion to create the ultimate supercars, we felt this was the perfect opportunity to come together with the LEGO Group and celebrate some of the iconic McLaren road cars whose designs were born of that vision,” McLaren chief designer Goran Ozbolt states.

“Together with LEGO Speed Champions, we have created our first ever McLaren double pack which features the iconic McLaren F1 LM and our latest track-focused hypercar, the Solus GT of which only 25 will be sold to customers and which was originally created as a video game concept car.”

The Artura supercar marks the debut of a first-for-McLaren compact, twin-turbocharged V6 engine designed to combine with an electric motor.

The HPH V6 powertrain gives the performance of McLaren’s larger capacity V8 engines with improved torque at low revs. You also have the option of electric-only, emission-free driving when you’re in the city.

The new hybrid twin-turbo engine produces 671 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque. This supercar benefits from weight-saving technology and is the first McLaren to sit atop the new Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA). Inside, the Artura carries on McLaren’s well known functional approach with a minimalist cabin, a limited amount of switch gears, and button-free steering wheels.

This next-generation V6 hybrid follows in the footsteps of the McLaren Senna, Speedtail, and Elva in terms of having a name rather than a number designation in order to reflect its specialness.
