Rennsport Reunion 7 took place this past weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, and to say it was a grand success would be an understatement.
Rennsport Reunion 7 was an extraordinary showcase of Porsche’s latest cars, a glimpse into their most exclusive models, and a window into the future of motorsport. This spectacular event marked a significant milestone, as it had been a full five years since the last one in 2018. What’s more, the seventh edition of this event coincided with Porsche’s grand 75th-anniversary.
91,000 fans. Over 300 racing cars. Famous faces from Porsche’s rich motorsport history. Rennsport Reunion 2023 was more than just a car event. It was history. This spectacular festival gave a glimpse into motorsport’s future, present, and past.
And of course, many of our indiGO Auto Group family joined in on all the fun. We had our incredible Porsche General Managers from Texas, Missouri, Arkansas, and California on sight for the ultimate motorsport experience.
To kick start the four-day festival, indiGO Auto Group hosted an exclusive Welcome Reception at the picturesque Lawn at Bernardus Lodge. It was an amazing evening with Porsche aficionados, delicious food, and drinks, all in celebration of our shared passion for all things Porsche. Let’s check out some of the most exciting moments from Rennsport Reunion 2023.
Relive all the excitement: Porsche Rennsport Reunion 7
One of the most notable highlights from the four-day festival was the reveal of the Porsche 911 GT3 R rennsport.
This world-class sports car marks Porsche’s most powerful car up to date. With only 77 units being produced, prices start at $1,046,000. Its powerful performance and craftsmanship make this one of the greatest investments ever. Rennsport Reunion 7 attendees had the opportunity to witness its power up close and personal. The 911 GT3 R rennsport completed two show runs at Laguna Seca Raceway on each of the four event days.
Porsche brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister gushed: “We barely even worked on the setup. I drove onto the track and everything felt great straight away: great car balance, lots of grip, and incredible acceleration. I’ve never been this fast at Laguna Seca before!.”
The Mission X concept and the Porsche Vision 357 Speedster were among the vehicles showcased in the paddock. The Mission X Concept car embodies a captivating fusion of concepts, providing a sneak peek into the potential design of a futuristic Porsche hypercar. On the other hand, the Vision 357 Speedster pays homage to Porsche’s very first sports car – the 356. It also celebrates Porsche’s 75th anniversary.

“The Porsche Vision 357 Speedster embodies the essence of the brand. Driving pleasure and driving dynamics combined with an extremely pure form. As with the Mission X that we presented just a few weeks ago, this model demonstrates that even with fresh design genes, the Porsche DNA shines through,” emphasized Michael Mauer, Vice President of Style Porsche.

Rennsport Reunion highlights Porsche’s history, present, and future. However, it’s the exhilarating race car competitions that elevate this event to another level.
With more than 300 race cars at Rennsport Reunion 7, they created some of the most passionate and emotionally charged moments on the Laguna Seca stage. Some of these iconic race cars included:
- the graceful, light Boxster Bergspyder,
- Porsche 917/30 from the 1973 CanAm season,
- RS Spyder, which enjoyed huge success in the USA,
- as well as the highly innovative Le Mans-winning 919 Hybrid.
While vintage racing was mostly done for fun, the Porsche Club of America also organized club races with official standings. Additionally, the final two rounds of the Porsche Carrera Cup North America series took place at Rennsport.
The Porsche Esports Championship also took place during Rennsport Reunion weekend with Randall Hayward emerging as champion. Robert Heck finished in second and Donavan Parker placed third.
Although Rennsport Reunion 7 featured some of Porsche’s rarest and fastest cars, the event pivoted away from speedy races. Some of the fun and relaxed moments at Porsche’s seventh Rennsport edition included two races with Porsche tractors. The spotlight was on machines blistering at 15 mph, perhaps the slowest moments at the fast-paced, thrill-filled event. indiGO Auto Group event had one of our own compete at this unique competition. John Ghaemmaghami from Porsche Palm Springs participated on Saturday and Sunday in the competition.
To conclude an event full of excitement, heartfelt memories, and all things Porsche, indiGO Auto Group held a special brunch as a token of appreciation to loyal customers and fellow Porsche enthusiasts.
