The 2024 McLaren 750S – available in coupe or convertible form- sets a new standard for lightweight supercar performance and driver excitement.

In other words, it sets a new benchmark in performance, engagement, and purity of response.

So you might be wondering: Should I buy it in coupe or spider form? And if I choose the wind-in-your-hair spider will I be sacrificing performance?

The answer is: Not really.

According to those who have driven the car, the Spider (convertible) doesn’t sacrifice much in terms of performance.

According to Carbuzz, for instance: “With the new McLaren 750S Spider convertible, you can go the roofless route and very likely not notice any difference in acceleration or handling, all thanks to the incredibly strong carbon fiber monocoque that requires no additional reinforcement in this application.”

The media outlet also noted that the 750S Spider shares its foundations with the previous – and much beloved – 720S Spider. But, like the coupe version, it’s lighter, more powerful, and has an updated driver-centric interior.

“Its twin-turbocharged V8 now produces 740 horsepower, and its soundtrack is amplified when the Retractable Hard Top (RHT) is lowered. Along with the 750S Coupe, this is also one of the last newly introduced McLaren supercars to do without any form of electrification.”
