BMW recently announced that they’ve developed BMW CarData, which enables the various systems in your vehicle to communicate with you and your mechanic, offering a more customized experience at the service shop. Using data from your vehicle, your car can be serviced with precision. Plus, when the system communicates with the mechanic, problems can be anticipated before a breakdown.

Eventually, this data can be used for more precise insurance premium calculations and even more expert mechanical repairs.
