Five Features that Make the McLaren Artura Great

McLaren Artura Supercar

The Thrill of a Lifetime:

The McLaren Artura is a High Performance Hybrid Super Car

It’s low and lean, minimal yet powerful. The Artura is in fact a new interpretation of all things McLaren, a high performance hybrid super car that has more than earned its reputation for greatness.
From managing airflow and heat, to achieving an ultra-low center of gravity – and even enabling the perfect driving position – every single curve of the Artura exists for a reason.
That seamless, sculpted feel is made possible thanks to magnificent engineering. Think cutting edge carbon fiber expertise and advanced techniques like “superforming.”

The end result is beautiful functionality, that also functions beautifully.

So let’s take a closer look at five features that make the McLaren Artura great.

1. McLaren started with a clean sheet.

McLaren Carbon Fibre Lightweight Architecture (MCLA) is at the core of the car’s design. Also brand new is the High-Performance Hybrid powertrain. All of this means one thing: Aerodynamic efficiency that is more advanced than ever. Helping to shape a minimal, beautiful new design. From the rear suspension to the advanced E-differential, every new element contributes to a uniquely intense driving experience. Ultra-light engineering. Blistering electrified power. Sublime agility and engagement. McLaren to the core. For the next generation.

2. It’s relentlessly innovative.

In fact, innovation is at the center of McLaren DNA. And it’s that DNA that shaped the Artura from the ground up. To redefine the supercar, every core element was fearlessly rethought. This pioneering, technical innovation has enabled incredible performance. And new heights of handling precision. Balanced with exquisite attention to detail, driver focused technology and the ability to travel in electric-only urban mode.

3. Ultra-light engineering.

Artura is defined by ultra-light engineering. Innovative, immensely strong and weighing just 82kg, the monocoque at the heart of our McLaren Carbon Fiber Lightweight Architecture (MCLA) is the car’s pioneering new platform. Built with incredible precision, it uses four new kinds of carbon fibre, a new resin system and new core material to deliver market-leading strength and stiffness.

4. The engine.

The all-new twin turbocharged V6 petrol engine generates 585PS. Throttle response is incredibly sharp and puts it squarely at the front of its class. With the 95PS E-Motor, you enjoy massive instant torque for stunning acceleration totaling 680PS of seamless performance. The Artura E-Motor’s instant torque provides throttle response that’s two times as fast as McLaren’s pure petrol cars – seamlessly transitioning to the V6 engine to deliver a torrent of power from standstill.

5. The cockpit design.

The innovative cockpit design brings powertrain and handling control switches to your fingertips – keeping your hands on the wheel, and eyes on the road. Electro-hydraulic steering provides optimum feedback. Infotainment and connectivity deepen your engagement too – including new HD touchscreens, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ capability.

The Artura is the most radically new McLaren since the 2011 MP4-12C. Everything from its carbon tub, to its engine, to its hybrid transmission’s electric motor, and even its refreshingly non-numeric moniker has been clean-sheet reimagined.

The 2022 McLaren Artura aims to introduce the throttle responsiveness and silent city-center operation (not to mention 129 g/km CO2 emissions compliance) that electrification promises, but with little or no weight penalty relative to its pure-petrol competitors.
