The newest Audi Q7 is one of the safest and most advanced SUVs on the market. It combines luxury with practical driving tools to get you and your passengers from point A to point B with ease. Check out these four fun facts about the 2017 Q7.

  1. Audi’s Q7 won the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) 2016 TOP SAFETY PICK+ award. The SUV performed superiorly in the organization’s five crashworthiness tests, making it one of the safest automobiles on the road. The IIHS explained, “In 2016, vehicles qualify for TOP SAFETY PICK or TOP SAFETY PICK+ if they have good ratings in all five crashworthiness evaluations—small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraints, as well as an available front crash prevention system. If the system earns a basic rating, the vehicle qualifies for TOP SAFETY PICK. The ‘plus’ is awarded to vehicles with an advanced or superior rating for front crash prevention.” The Q7 qualified for the additional PICK+ designation.
  2. Car and Driver also recognized the Q7 this year as a “5080-pound sanctuary of aluminum and steel.” The experts at Car and Driver deemed the SUV to be the number one in their “Chariots of the Dads” comparison test. Up against several other SUVs from various makers, such as Volvo and BMW, the Audi Q7 exceeded the expectations of the judges.
  3. The ultimate family vehicle, the Audi Q7 has seating for seven. The rear two seats fold up in preparation for the carpool crew and down to make room for all the gear necessary for a beach trip.
  4. The Q7’s virtual cockpit is the ultimate in automotive technology. Directly behind the wheel, you’ll find a 12.3-inch screen displaying everything from your speed to a 3D map powered by Google. The strategic placement allows drivers to follow GPS directions without averting their eyes from the road.
