Volkswagen’s new ID.4 all electric SUV is hooking up to “Test Drive with Alexa” to take drivers and passengers on an interactive real-world test experience.
VW customers in select regions can schedule an in-person Alexa-guided test drive of the 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 all electric SUV.
Following a brief walk-around of the SUV with a Volkswagen Product Specialist, participants can embark on a real-world test drive with Amazon Alexa as their companion.
The Alexa guided test drive is enabled through an Echo Auto device on the ID.4’s dashboard.
Among other things, participants can get a feel for the ID.4’s drivability and ask Alexa for more information on the many functions of the EV.
For instance, if you ask about the ID.4’s available massaging seats will prompt a response of: “The seat massage function is available in the front seats of the I.D.4 Pro S and Pro S with Gradient. If you’d like to try it, just ask, ‘Alexa, how do I turn on the massage feature?’”
Among other things, Alexa is able to share information about the ID.4’s features, including its battery, charging, blind spot monitor, connecting to infotainment, cost, and regular maintenance.

Customers can now test drive a Volkswagen with the freedom to explore the car without any added pressure.
“In our push to bring EVs and electromobility to all, we need to find new and exciting ways to talk to our customers,” said Andrew Savvas, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer at Volkswagen Group of America. “This collaboration with Amazon does just that. Future Volkswagen owners can experience all our ID.4 has to offer with the aid of a voice service they’ve already come to know.”

The test drives last approximately 30 minutes, and customers should plan on about 45 minutes for the entire experience.
Once the test drive is completed, customers can head to the participating Volkswagen dealership to receive additional information on how to reserve their ID.4 all electric SUV.
The ID.4 is VW’s first all-electric SUV and the brand’s first global EV.
Assembled locally in Chattanooga, TN, the 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 SUV is truly something to behold.
Designed to deliver on all your needs, its style, performance, functionality, and accessibility set it apart–it’ll transform how you think about electric vehicles.
The Volkswagen ID.4 Pro, for instance, can take you where you need to go with an EPA Estimated Range of 275 miles. The range for all other versions will vary. You can take charge when powering up with the ease and convenience of home stations, and a growing network of public charging options.
Built on Volkswagen’s MEB electric vehicle architecture—the modular electric drive matrix—it merges the strengths of a purpose-built EV with performance, packaging, and value, features that have marked the brand for decades.
The ID.4 competes in the world’s largest market segment—compact SUVs—and is currently produced in Germany, China, and at VW’s Chattanooga factory, with deliveries due to start later this year.
An SUV through and through, the ID.4 offers a premium experience. From its spacious, modern cabin built for driver and passengers alike, to its sporty, streamlined looks, for those looking for a smart and stylish SUV, this may be just what you are seeking.
