Former McLaren executive Tony Joseph will take over as regional president of Aston Martin for North America.
As the new regional president of Aston Martin, Tony Joseph brings to the British luxury brand more than 25 years of experience in the luxury segment. He joins the company from his previous position as president of McLaren Group in North America.
North America is Aston Martin’s largest market. Joseph will spearhead Aston Martin’s growth and organization in the bustling region. He is considered an expert on dealer network and business growth and will work to build customer experience, operational structure, and distribution of the brand in North America.
His appointment comes on the heels of Aston Martin The Americas relocation to New York City and is happening ahead of the opening of its new flagship brand experience center next year.
Joseph enjoyed a nearly 13-year career with British automaker McLaren, where he initially introduced and launched the brand in North America, significantly growing its revenues and dealer network to make up more than 40 percent of the company’s annual global sales.
He also led the expansion of the brand’s US operations, including its successful relocation to Dallas, Texas.
He will now work to build on the recent move of Aston Martin’s regional headquarters and spearhead the opening of the ultra-luxury brand experience center in New York City.
Joseph’s career includes a six-year run as Sales Director of Ferrari North America and extensive senior experience within Porsche’s dealer network.
He is a graduate of Western Michigan University.
“As our largest market, the Americas carries huge importance to Aston Martin and our future success, with a clear strategy to accelerate growth and capitalize on the incredibly strong demand from luxury American consumers,” said Amedeo Felisa, Chief Executive Officer of Aston Martin.
“With his exceptional track record in the luxury sector and strong reputation and experience across the dealer network, I am delighted to welcome Tony to lead our next phase of growth in the Americas. He joins at an exciting and transformative time for Aston Martin The Americas.”
Tony Joseph, Regional President of Aston Martin, said of his new role: “I am delighted to be joining Aston Martin at an immensely exciting time for the brand. With a clear strategy, thrilling new products, and unrivaled affinity amongst luxury customers, I believe there is huge growth potential in the Americas for Aston Martin.”
He said he is looking forward to working with others to strengthen the brand, enhance the customer experience and expand operations and distribution throughout the North American region.
Since 2020, there have been three Aston Martin Lagonda regional presidents for the Americas.
The new Aston Martin Valhalla is set to arrive in 2023.
“I look forward to working with colleagues both here in the U.S. and globally to realize that opportunity, with a collective ambition to strengthen our brand, enhance our customer experience and expand our operations and distribution throughout the region.”
He arrives as Aston Martin is shelving its gas-powered engines, including its legendary V-12 powerplant, and replacing them with new all-electric powertrains.
The first electric Aston Martin is expected to arrive in 2025 as existing models are getting the hybrid treatment.
Aston Martin’s bestselling model, the DBX, is slated to get a plug-in hybrid model. And there’s also speculation that the Vanquish mid-engine sports car is going to have a Mercedes-Benz V8 hybrid driveline.
Aston Martin is also expected to release the Valhalla, a mid-engine V-8 plug-in hybrid hypercar in 2024.
This revolutionary mid-engine hypercar has yet to be released, but you can glimpse it in action in the 2021 James Bond film No Time to Die. With next-generation aircraft morphing technology, it’s sure to be a benchmark in automotive.
