VW, Audi, and Porsche have announced that their electric vehicles will use North American Charging Standard (NACS) charging ports starting in 2025.

The North American Charging Standard (NACS) is a charging connector system that was developed by Tesla and is also known as the Tesla Supercharger network. Now, Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche are facilitating electric car customers with a Combined Charging System (CCS) charging port to utilize the Tesla Supercharger network. This move significantly broadens the options available to customers, providing them with greater flexibility in choosing their preferred charging provider.

Porsche, Audi, and VW are committed to enhancing the driving experience of electric car drivers by improving the charging experience and fostering interoperability.

What is: Range Anxiety?

Timo Resch, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America commented: “We strive to provide an exceptional and seamless customer experience, and when it comes to charging, greater choice is a key factor in delivering this.”

“Today our customers already have access to thousands of charging sites across America thanks to Electrify America, with existing stations being renewed and new sites being added weekly. We are proud to announce that in 2025 we will also partner with Tesla to significantly expand the network of chargers throughout the U.S. that will become available to our customers,” adds Resch.
