The Most Luxurious Coupe in the World is Also an EV

The Rolls-Royce Spectre EV is all about luxury – but in an understated, environmentally friendly kind of way. The British marque’s first fully electric car is arriving this year.

The Rolls-Royce Spectre EV encapsulates an atmosphere of all-electric luxury to perfection.

So why the name Spectre? According to Rolls-Royce: It evokes an omen or portent of great magnitude — it presages a fundamental change in our familiar earthly matrix.

Rolls-Royce Spectre EV is the epitome of luxury.

And the name suits this model perfectly. After all a silent, menacing creation.

Powerful and edgy, but at the same time smooth, sleek, and elegant. ‌

It’s the ultimate in high-end all-electric luxury.

The Spectre EV is a milestone in the long and storied history of Rolls-Royce motorcars. And believe it or not, electrification was something that was on the minds of Rolls-Royce founders since the beginning.

Wired magazine recently wrote about the history of electrified vehicles at Rolls-Royce.

“A few years before Charles Rolls met his future business partner, Henry Royce, he went on the record about the potential of electric propulsion. Yep, back in 1900, electrification was very much on the cards, and one-half of what would become the world’s pioneering automotive luxury brand was fully on board with the idea—until the oil business did its nefarious thing and steered the new-fangled motor industry toward petrol.”

Back then, the lead acid batteries were huge and inefficient – so Charles Rolls had some concerns about the infrastructure they would require.

Today, that future he envisioned is here – glitch-free. The world of Rolls-Royce and electrification are merging seamlessly in the enviable form of the Rolls-Royce Spectre EV.

The large four-seat “super-coupe” replaces the old Phantom Coupe and the smaller Wraith.

According to Wired, the average Rolls-Royce customer has become younger over the past decade– with the average customer now being 42 instead of 56. That “demographic repositioning” has been assisted by the boom in the tech sector and the popularity of the brand among hip-hop’s biggest stars, according to the magazine.

In other words Rolls-Royce is cooler than ever before.

And the Spectre EV is sure to keep that momentum going.

“It’s a huge statement, in every sense, measuring 5 meters in length and sitting two meters wide. From behind the wheel, the super-yacht parallel is clear: You don’t drive a Rolls-Royce so much as issue commands from the cockpit and chart a course past the little people. A degree of chutzpah is needed here for sure,” the magazine gushed. “Rolls’s modular aluminum spaceframe chassis is wrapped in body panels of meticulously finessed surfaces, including a so-called waft line. Huge 23-inch wheels are needed to keep everything in proportion.”

A tapered tail makes it possible for the Spectre to have a low 0.25 drag coefficient as well as aerodynamic efficiency – both significant factors when it comes to EVs.

Similarly, the wide grille is aimed at reducing drag rather than carrying out a cooling function. (An aperture beneath the grille and bumper now does the cooling).

Rolls-Royce has promised that its entire fleet will be electric by the year 2030.

The Rolls-Royce Spectre EV, the first electric vehicle from the luxury brand, will be out in late 2023.

The British luxury automaker is taking its ultimate-luxury ethos to a new realm with the all-electric 2024 Spectre coupe.

This electric coupe offers a fully electric powertrain that includes two electric motors that combine for 577 horsepower. It’s also equipped with a 64 pound-feet of torque, enough to get the coupe to 60 mph in a claimed 4.4 seconds.

Although it has not been announced how large the battery of this EV is, it’s estimating a driving range of about 260 miles per charge. Rolls-Royce incorporated cutting-edge adaptive suspension and chassis components to ensure a peerless ride for the ultimate driving experience.

The Rolls-Royce engineers also ensured there was room for 700 kilograms of sound-deadening material to make sure the cabin remains whisper quiet.

Its distinct and supple leather is a result of intensive work done by Rolls-Royce’s own artisans and leather experts. Tumbling the hides in pigment gives them an intense color payoff that permeates every level of the material, as opposed to just the top layer.

This technique also ensures that over time, the leather ages beautifully and evenly. There’s also space for four with bucket seats in both rows for pure comfort at the highest level of luxury. With an estimated price starting at $400,000, the Spectrum can be delivered to you by late 2023.

The Rolls-Royce Spectre EV is the world’s first ultra-luxury electric super coupe. It is an emblem of artisanship in perfect harmony with electric technology. The perfect emblem for your enviable life.
