The special Flying Spur S Hybrid that recently exited the Bentley factory is finished in luminous Spark, a brand new shade of blue from the British automaker. Bentley says it’s the 500th Bespoke Vehicle from Bentley’s Mulliner Division in just one year.

“Reaching the milestone 500th Commission in a year would not have been possible without the ongoing support of both the main Bentley Design Studio and all the other functions of the wider Mulliner Team,” Mulliner and & Motorsport chief commercial officer Paul Dickenson said. “2021 had already been a record year for Mulliner Design that saw the team needing to grow by 50% to meet customer demands and in 2022 that team has really been tested as it has seen a year-on-year increase of 85 percent in customer/retailer commissions. Their hard work, dedication, and passion to each and every one of these commissions means that we have never had such beautiful examples of personalization leaving Crewe.”

With roots that can be traced back to before the birth of the motor car itself, Mulliner operates today as Bentley’s personal commissioning division.
In fact, the history of Mulliner can be traced to a family of carriers and saddlers in 1559, just one year after Elizabeth I came to the throne, according to Bentley.
The Mulliner name did not come to prominence until 1760, however, when F. Mulliner was commissioned to build and maintain carriages for the Royal Mail.
Today, the name Mulliner represents exquisite artistry and quality – just as it did centuries ago.
